Automation Studio™ E9.0 - Educational Edition is all about supporting teachers in delivering content, as well as improving the student’s learning experience. Use real-looking illustrated components to create and simulate circuits. A new Forum is available to quickly access the latest demonstration files and custom libraries. You can also share your projects and experience with other instructors and users worldwide. See What's New!
Since its foundation in 1986, Automation Studio™ has proven its strength in technical and engineering educational institutions worldwide by helping students better understand the behaviour and interaction of technologies with an intuitive visual learning approach before moving on to the hands-on experience.
Automation Studio™ is the unique fluid power and automation technologies software solution to teach and learn in a fun and effective way! It allows you to easily create or reproduce assignments and learning material, adapting it to your teaching curriculums.
Comprehensive sets of libraries with components that can be used to teach a wide array of subjects related to hydraulics /pneumatics (ISO), electrical (NEMA, IEC, SAE, JIC), PLCs (Allen Bradley™, Siemens™, LSIS, IEC) and other control technologies, which enhance students Blue Print reading capabilities.
All technologies can be linked together and component interactions can be seen during simulation to create complete systems which reinforces students understanding of system’s interactions.
Easily reproduce any lab equipment or complete system to simulate, analyze and troubleshoot them before the hands-on experience.
Using pre-made Virtual Systems, such as conveyors, traffic lights, elevator, and pick and place, students can create their logic using the electrical control, ladder diagram (Allen Bradley™, Siemens™, LSIS, IEC), and/or SFC modules.
Remote access capabilities enables teachers and students to use the software from school and from home for eLearning. They can now prepare courses, do homework, and perform simulations wherever they are!
Realistic measuring tools, such as a multimeter, clamp meter, oscilloscope, hydraulic tester, thermometer and manometer, can be used to reproduce real-life measuring and fault-finding experiences enhancing student’s troubleshooting skills.
"A fully integrated simulation of the safety device was created using Automation Studio™. It includes an electrical power supply, ladder logic and a complete hydraulic circuit. System power requirements were studied via simulation and laboratory testing. Several oils were evaluated at extreme low temperatures. Good correlation was observed. These results provided insights for system design and the formulation of low-temperature hydraulic fluids."
Paul Michael Manager of Tribology Research, Fluid Power Institute, Milwaukee School of Engineering, United States of America
"Having explored the Automation Studio™ Online Videos and the recommendation from BTEC awarding body, I believe that Automation Studio™ has all the ingredients needed to equip our students with the right knowledge and skills towards their future career. With Automation Studio™, our students can now create Pneumatic and Hydraulic circuit diagrams to BS ISO industry standard. It will also provide the students the means of simulating the circuits so that they can analyse the circuits further."
Abdul Samba Teacher of Engineering, Suffolk One College, United Kingdom
"With simple CAD software, circuit design is very abstract and you can’t show students upfront what the class and lab expectations or outcome should be. The ability to animate circuits in Automation Studio™ is one of the major reasons why we decided to integrate this software to our curriculum. The efficiency in creating circuits has exponentially increased. With Automation Studio™, we can now draw circuits in a matter of minutes. The fact that you can animate prepares students for labs. They can test the circuit and make sure it works properly."
