Automation Studio™ used at PT. Vale Indonesia (Indonesia) July 2nd, 2020 After evaluating a few options available on the market, we came to the conclusion that Automation Studio™ was the best software to achieve objectives on these projects. Automation Studio™ makes it easier to understand, deepening knowledge, exploring options for design, principle and troubleshooting of industrial hydraulic system to achieve best performance of hydraulic system. Projects where Automation Studio™ was implemented We first implemented Automation Studio™ in one of our capital projects. The scope project was to install a mechanized drill performing slagholes for PTVI Furnace No. 1 in Indonesia. The machine is operated through a wireless operation box with electric, hydraulic and pneumatic valves. The equipment supplied contains high-pressure hydraulic, high-pressure pneumatic and electrical components. The carriage itself is powered by two hydraulic motors and is mounted on overhead rails. Hydraulic power is provided by a hydraulic power unit and 2 accumulators located on the hydraulic power unit to perform the necessary functions. The purpose of the Electrode Hoisting System is to raise and lower electrodes to control the electric arc between the electrode tip and molten slag in the furnace. The Electrode Hoisting Cylinders are powered by the Electrode Hoisting Hydraulic System. This system consists of four hoisting pumps and their associated manifolds, and piping to the cylinders, as well as one circulating pump pumping oil through a filter and a cooler. There is one hoisting pump circuit for each electrode plus one complete spare circuit which can supply any one of the three electrodes. Results and Benefits The return on investment that we estimated Automation Studio™ would offer was really interesting for us. All the benefits were recorded within 6 months, and we saved 60,000$US for each project!
